Feedback Score 1 (100%) This is a tutorial on how to make a simple Grunge signature in Photoshop. I did it in Adobe Photoshop CS3, but it will work in any other version. Enjoy!
Today, you’re going to learn how to make this:
First, make a blank canvas sized 380 x 140. Make sure your foreground colour is black and background is white and then select Filter > Render > Clouds then get a simple black brush and dab it a few times and you should get something like this:
Get some grunge brushes and make a few layers alternating between black and white colours, making new layers for each. Like this:
That was the end of brushing for me. If you want more you can add more, if you want less, you can have less. This is just a guide and most of it is up to you.
After you’re happy with your brushing, duplicate your render and make it cover the canvas COMPLETELY.
Here’s the kicker. Once you’ve done that, click up the top and select Filter > Blur > Motion Blur and select settings like so:
So once you have done that, set that layer to overlay and you will have something like this:
Then add your render to the canvas and then use the blur tool to blur it. I got this:
Now that you have done that, make a new layer and go to Image > Apply Image. Then get your burn tool and burn around the edges and then get the sharpen tool and sharpen the render and a bit of the background and you get something that looks like this:
After that it’s a simple matter of adding your text and border.
I’m horrible at text but this is what I got.
I used a plain 3 px black border.

That is the end of the
Tutorial! I hope that this helped you.
