    Default [Minecraft 1.3.2] Marglyph’s TooManyItems

It works in singleplayer and multiplayer (if you’re an op). Many people find it better than creative mode (and it works in survival mode too, of course). Unlimited stacks are there (shift-click) but you will need ModLoader for them to refresh constantly. Use the correct version. Delete META-INF. Finally, 90% of questions in the thread are answered below in this post.
    The Future
As many of you know by now, Minecraft is changing so that the single-player game is functionally the same as multi-player but with a local server, beginning with pre-release 12w18a. This has a large effect on any mod that changes both game behavior and the front-end (i.e. new GUIs) because the client and server are in different JARs and must be modded separately. Furthermore, the official server API may take some time to be finished (and third-party APIs generally don't update to pre-releases).
For now, I am releasing a 12w18a "client only" TMI. You will note that this does not have any of TMI's "single-player only" features, because SSP as we know it no longer exists. In the future, TMI will need to include a server mod, which means I have some design decisions as to what methods/dependencies to use. I will also need to make a decision about supporting pre-releases when relevant third-party dependencies will probably not support pre-releases.
While it's probably a good long-term decision for Minecraft to be re-built this way, it will require an adjustment period for creators and users of mods. Hang in there!
P.S: For commands to work in single-player (for the pre-release), you will probably need to add your username to 'ops.txt' in the 'server' directory where you put minecraft_server.jar. Also, your give-command will need to be set for vanilla to use it in single-player for now.
    Recent updates:
    * The vanilla server now supports item damage, so if you’re on vanilla SMP and have been using TMI before 1.0, you can all change your give-command to /give {0} {1} {2} {3}
2012-08-16: Updated for 1.3.2. There are still a couple of known issues with creative mode. I'm working on them.
2012-08-06: The present version (which has been out for a few days now) seems to have fixed the crashing bug.
2012-07-31: Updated to 1.3.1. Official release is still August 1, but you can use the pre-release 1.3.1 (NOT 1.3, they are different).
    2012-07-05: Pre-release 12w27a.
    2012-06-28: Pre-release 12w26a.
    2012-06-21: Pre-release 12w25a.
2012-06-14: Updated to pre-release 12w24a. Very few changes. Still having some bugs with loading save states under the new local SP server. Working on it.
2012-06-07: Updated to pre-release 12w23a. Not as many changes this time, but I fixed a few things.
2012-06-04: Updated to pre-release 12w22a. This was quite a tricky update due to needing to change all sorts of things in SP to work with the new integrated server, but I think I got it.
    2012-05-10: Updated client for pre-release 12w19a.
    2012-05-06: Updated client for pre-release 12w18a.
    2012-04-26: Updated for pre-release 12w17a.
    2012-04-19: Updated for pre-release 12w16a.
2012-04-13: Lots of fixes (for both 1.2.5 and 12w15a!).

    • New installs (if you don't already have a config file) will turn TMI on in multiplayer by default. (Early on some users complained that it was confusing to have TMI show up in MP when you don't have op status, but these days I think it's more confusing for it not to show up by default.)
    • Fixed a (Minecraft) bug in which re-focusing the Minecraft window by clicking in it could cause a click where the mouse left the window.
    • Bows now properly recognized as tools for unlimited item feature.
    • Mushroom/spawner blocks properly work without ModLoader (as usual, you will need to open the inventory once first for them to be initialized without ModLoader.)
    • Re-added off redstone torches as being able to place them does seem to make redstone building easier.
    • Added more insulation against buggy mod items.

    2012-04-12:Updated for prerelease 12w15a.

    • Added the rest of the mushroom blocks, and they now will place themselves in the world properly (SP only)
    • Now can place custom spawners (SP only) without needing to replace the player controller. This may help with compatibility with other mods.
    • Fix for potion + mob egg IDs with extended block IDs.

Feature update for the 1.2.5 version.

    • Added difficulty changer to the toolbar.
    • Mouse scroll wheel works in TMI item panel.
    • Resets fall distance when switching from creative to survival mode in single player, to prevent some flying-related deaths. If you continue to fly more than 4 blocks down in survival mode you will still take falling damage, but it will not have added up from the entire time you were flying in creative mode.
    • Resets rain timer when turning rain on/off in single player.

2012-04-04: 1.2.5 is out! It is identical to the pre-release.
    2012-03-30: Updated for 1.2.5 pre-release.
2012-03-22: Updated for 1.2.4. The new version also includes creative, rain/snow, and time buttons in MP! They use the default commands only. Also, there’s a bit of lag before rain takes effect so don’t mash the button.
2012-03-03: ModLoader for 1.2.3 changed method names. Please re-download and re-install TMI.
2012-03-02: 1.2.3 appears to have been a minor bugfix update and TMI for 1.2.2 does not need to be updated, just re-install from scratch.
2012-03-01: Released for 1.2.2. (If you have the bug with the first letter of enchantment names being cut off, re-download; I fixed it within about an hour of the release.)
    2012-02-23: Released for 12w08a.
2012-02-17: Updated TMI for Minecraft 1.1 to address RedPower and Forestry mods.
    2012-02-15: Released for 12w07b.
    2012-02-09: Released for 12w06a.
2012-02-03: Released for 12w05b. Yay “weekly” builds.
2012-02-02: Released for 12w05a weekly build.
2012-01-26: Released for 12w04a weekly build.
2012-01-19: Released TMI for 12w03a weekly build. I may or may not do future weekly builds. I want to see how many downloads there are vs. how much work it is to update.
    2012-01-12: Updated for Minecraft 1.1.
2011-11-29: Save states now save and load item enchantments. Minor improvements to the item list.
2011-11-19: Small but important bugfix for multiplayer.
2011-11-18: Updated for Minecraft release 1.0.0.
This is a HUGE update, not only because of Minecraft’s exit from beta, but because there are new features, with even more on the way later. Some of these new features are experimental! For example, you can now configure what type of mob spawner to place, change the key that turns TMI on/off, switch between creative and survival mode, and control the weather and time from TMI, and all the useful potions are included. The Trash function is different and you can also delete stacks by dropping them onto the item sidebar. Check it out! There is also an API for modders to hide items from TMI and use higher damage values than 15, but it’s not documented yet. I will be working on this.
Turn On/Off: Press the “o” key in the inventory screen. By default it’s on in single player and off in multiplayer. On/off state will be remembered. You can change the key (to a different one than “o”) in the config file (see below).
Add items: Left-click on items in the right sidebar to add full stacks, or right-click to add one at a time.
Configuration: Find the directory in which your minecraft saves folder and options.txt are, and if you have previously used TMI you will also find TooManyItems.txt there. This contains options that you can change, not all of which are documented yet. (Important: only set spawner to the name of a mob, like Skeleton, Sheep, etc. If you set it to another entity like a boat, your game will crash.)
Unlimited stacks/tools (single-player only): Shift-left-click on items in the right sidebar to add unlimited stacks OR unlimited-use tools or flint and steel. ModLoader is required for “true” unlimited stacks. Without ModLoader the quantity of >64 stacks will refresh when you open your inventory.
Trash (single-player only): Drop an item stack on the item sidebar or the trash icon to delete it. Click the trash icon to turn “delete mode” on and off (in “delete mode” you will delete any item you click on — useful for selectively deleting a lot of items). Shift-click thee trash icon to wipe out your inventory.
Toolbar: Next to the Trash icon, there are icons that turn on/off creative mode, turn on/off rain, and set the time to dawn, noon, dusk, and midnight, respectively. If you don’t want this functionality in your TMI, you can set itemsonly:true in your config file.
Save states (single-player only): Several slots are available for you to save your entire inventory and restore it later. (The “x” button next to a saved state will remove it.) This can be used to save your “real” inventory before editing, save a blank inventory to clear out everything you’re holding, save a full inventory of materials, share inventories between characters, etc.
Multiplayer: You need to be a server op. Also, every non-vanilla server works a little differently. The command issued to the server to give you items is configured in TooManyItems.txt as “give-command”. In this command, you should put {0} for the player’s username, {1} for the item ID, {2} for the quantity, and {3} for the damage value. If {3} isn’t in the command, items with damage values other than 0 won’t show up

    Vanilla server command: /give {0} {1} {2} {3}
    * Since the vanilla server used to not support item damage with the give command, TMI will probably still have /give {0} {1} {2} by default. You can now add {3} to the end. The default will be updated in a future TMI version.
    Bukkit with the Essentials mod command: /item {1}:{3} {2}
Fast crafting: Right-click on the output square when crafting to craft the maximum possible amount. (Works while the inventory overlay is disabled).
Fast transfer (single-player only): Hold shift while placing an item into a chest, or into your inventory from a chest, to transfer all items of the same type and combine stacks. (ConvenientInventory does this better, and TMI will use its functions if it is installed. Make sure to ONLY install ConvenientInventory.class).

    • Type “O” to turn on/off
    • Shift+Click for unlimited

Zombe’s Mod Pack: Install Zombe’s first, then install TMI over it, overwriting gg.class. Edit Zombe’s config.txt file and turn off the “craft” mod. (TMI provides fast crafting — see above).
ConvenientInventory: Install only ConvenientInventory.class. Or, if you have already installed both of its classes, install TMI on top of it to overwrite the other one.
Items added by mods, in general: Compatible
