Default Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Express?

So I want to learn how to program/code and I've been looking for tutorials on how to do so, but that's a different story. Anyways these tutorials require me to download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Express, so then I went to the Microsoft website to download it. After a few seconds of waiting for it to download I then proceeded to install it. I got to the part where it had finished transferring and I needed to Restart my computer to continue with the installation. After I restarted my computer the installer came up automatically and started to install. I did nothing with the installations window, I didn't even touch my mouse or any key. Even then it failed to install, the program closed and re-opened instantly, only this time there was a small list of programs there with little red X's on the left.

So in other words, what I am asking is:
-Is there something I am doing wrong?
-Do I have the incorrect program, or is there a newer version?
-Is there a way to fix this problem?

I am just starting to learn this stuff and I know nothing about what I need or how to get started, all I know is that some tutorials required me to get to know this program a little better to be able to use a compiler or something.

Is there nobody that can help me? I can't continue my Jedi training without this program.

    Try redownloading it.
    I've never had that issue.

Had the same problem, is there something I'm doing wrong?? I checked the 2008 package thing and unchecked it and both ways I still get the same error. Any more solutions?

I think I might be missing something maybe? Because at first I thought it could have just been a compatibility error, but I double checked to make sure I had the Windows 7 64 bit version. I'll try contacting them though.

I just added a picture, also I tried contacting them, but it was going to cost me money. So I decided to try their forums, and I tried many ways to attempt to fix my problem but it wouldn't work. The installer keeps unexpectedly crashing.

It says x64 in the installation. Are you sure you have x64? Have you tried installing the x32 version, either way?
