Well, I mean, if you want to hold up an 8 inch tablet to your ear to make calls :P

I'm out of town at the moment, so I can't really get a good look at it. It doesn't even support 802.11ac? Or at least Nvidia's website is boasting dual-band n. That's soms bullshit...

Look up YouTube videos of Dolphin emulator on the K1 chip.

The $75 chip that performs, on air, as well as the $300 chip.*

Have you seen the numbers for the new Intel Pentium G3258?

Not sure why I never responded to that last VM, I suppose you were exaggerating? Do you use Skype?

If you're recording (not live), you could try taking a sample of the background noise and doing some subtraction. I don't know how else to fix that unless the program you're using has some sort of background noise filter @[email protected]

Looked it up. In order to transmit digitally via USB, the mic itself has to have some form of analog to digital converter; any quality loss, afaik, is going to happen there. I can't think of a reason why integrated sound should make a difference or not because you're receiving a digital transmission from the thing.

Try hooking it up to another computer and see if the problem persists.

Except they fucked themselves by not putting in hardware h.265 / VP9 decoding. That would have sold it to me instantly.

I'm looking at specs for AMD's new AM1 platform, and I'm thoroughly impressed
It's some serious hardware for the money.
I see some Realtek ALC887 on-board audio solutions, and that's not cheap-o in the slightest.

I'm running 7 now. I have an 8 installation disk nearby, and I do play games made with Direct3D11.

      Meh.....

I'll see what MS says in five days regarding DirectX 12. If it's as revolutionary as the rumors say it is, Windows may win me back.

As I wrote that, I plugged in my headphones, and Windows didn't do anything (whereas Ubuntu would switch audio output to my headphones without complaint).
Maybe I should just reinstall Windows and see if my problems go away... or I could just keep using Ubuntu... decisions, decisions...

Windows 7 refuses to mount my external harddrive.

It recognizes that it's an external harddrives, it can run tests that say that the disk is healthy and fine, it shows the disk in disk management, but it refuses to give it a drive letter and an access path. I don't fucking even...

Windows Update is the single most obtrusive piece of software that I've ever had the displeasure to use. It's either on and in your face or completely disabled, and you can't leave your computer alone to do something (ie download a game on Steam) in fear that Windows Update will install something and restart your computer.

Windows + my school's wireless networks = "Oh, you don't have CA certificates? Well, we can't trust this network then, and therefore you cannot go on it."
Ubuntu + my school's wireless networks = "No CA certificates? Okay. That's fine."

      Blah blah printers and drivers
Blah blah if Valve's DirectX -> OpenGL thing works very well and devs actually use it, I'm getting rid of Windows for good.

I always forget how much I hate Windows until I starts using it again. I'll solely use Ubuntu for months and then boot Windows because I forgot how much I hate it only to realize why I hate it and go back to Ubuntu.

TIL the Athlon 760k and FX-4300 are just about the same chip except the first is usually $20 cheaper and FM2 is a better platform.

Now that I know this, I hereby declare AM3+ to be deceased. Time of death: date of release.

Alice in Wonderland taught me more Physics than that asshole did <_<

That book actually got me a few points extra credit in my Physics lecture, and I hadn't realized it until a few days later.
We were doing some electronic field problem and we had to know the radius of the Earth. The professor was being coy and wouldn't give us the number. I spoke up and said, "I think about 4,000 miles."

I was annoyed that I couldn't figure out where I got that number from. I was going through some books, picked up Alice in Wonderland, and found out that Alice said it.

So many people making so much monopoly money. I don't even.

They say that the only people to truly profit from the California gold rush were the people that sold the tools. History repeats.
