    Hey guys,

    So I was looking around the various MS forums and I found this post
    In short, Nexon is collecting the following data for each of us. In the past they asked us before tracking this information however, they no longer ask.
    Code:
    "createDate": "2017-11-03 18:31:25.757",
        "isServerTime": true,
        "gameName": "MapleStory",
        "serviceId": "-1", //was some number
        "currentStep": 4,
        "sessionId": "-1", //was some number
        "logType": "stability",
        "mid": "QI1c6giW",
        "nexonSN": -1, //was some number
        "clientIPAddr": "",
        "characterId": "",
        "accountNo": "",
        "userId": "",
        "channeling": "",
        "worldId": "",
        "stability": {
            "stage": 2,
            "prevStage": 1,
            "errorCode": -9999,
            "comment": "GC:InitClient",
            "mid": "QI1c6giW",
            "uid": ""
        }
    In order to prevent them from collecting this information you will need to null route the livelog.nexon.com ip address. You can use the following code in an elevated command prompt to block it.

    <- click that link

    livelog.nexon.com: 54.65.93.96
    globalnps.aws.nexon.com: 52.209.236.11
    Code:
    route add 52.69.12.239 0.0.0.0 -p
    route add 54.238.213.221 0.0.0.0 -p
    route add 54.65.93.96 0.0.0.0 -p
    route add 52.209.236.11 0.0.0.0 -p

    If in the future Nexon makes it mandatory to collect that data you can use the following code in command prompt to remove the null routes.
    Code:
    route delete 52.69.12.239
    route delete 54.238.213.221
    route delete 54.65.93.96

    You forgot a -p to make it a persistent static route. You can also test if it worked by pinging those ip addresses. If you got a request timed out, it means your packet was sent out but the server (nexon) did not respond (It didn't work). If you got a destination host unreachable, then your packet was dumped since your router can't find a suitable route to the destination (It worked).
    Code:
    route add 52.69.12.239 0.0.0.0 -p
    route add 54.238.213.221 0.0.0.0 -p
    route add 54.65.93.96 0.0.0.0 -p

    Just tinfoil thinking here, but wouldnt blocking nexon tracking be a red flag to us? (Assuming that their new mandatory tracking compiles a database of players that have ip addresses allowing nexon tracking vs not allowing for tracking. Would be obvious, no?)

    There's no way for Nexon to be able to tell we are intentionally blocking that IP. There could be a multitude of reasons why that IP isn't able to communicate with a specific client.

    I followed up, it seems like they send data out even when it is not ticked. Does not seem to be related.
    Maybe someone with more networking knowledge can help me out, im not that experienced in it. Just have my network+ cert.

    Try using wireshark and intercepting the information thats been sent. I don't know if they encrypt their transmissions. (I only have a CCNA so im a pleb)
