Just wondering which to get? I have a laptop now but it's a bit worn down after so many years. Just wondering which is best to handle online games such as Tera's amazing HD graphics. Any recommendations for a Gaming Device?

Get a PC. The only thing a laptop can possibly beat a PC on is mobility.

Well if you're looking for the most power and bang for your buck, a desktop will beat a laptop every single day. Laptops are meant to be portable, gaming laptops (even if they're super large) are meant to be moved as well.

Getting a gaming desktops is my recommendation , I really don't enjoy gaming on laptops I really only use them for research maybe, or homework and stuff like that, but yea you should go for a gaming desktop.

Id say laptop because someday you will grow out of gaming and want to use it for something productive.

IF you must have your vidya then go with either a high end Asus or MSI laptop.

IF you really want a desktop then make one yourself

    Never go with alienware

Dunno why you are asking anyway as you probably already knew what you wanted lol.

Laptops are much more useful, but if you want strictly gaming and already have an okayish laptop even if it's getting worn down go with the desktop.

Purchase a desktop if you intend to game (Custom built), I lost all hope for Windows notebook manufacturers.

depends on what budget you have. for a desktop i'd recommend 1400$ (1200€). In graphic cards i recommend a Nvidia GeForce GTX 780, if you want more power then get the Ti version of it, in both cases you wont need to upgrade your card for a longer time. CPU, any i7 is mostly for business pc's because it has lots of power but only for non-gaming applications. Get an i5-4690 (haswell), base tact is 3,5, 3,9 turbo, can be OC'd to about 4,5. Trust me, this thing is beast. Everything else is not that important, just watch out for a mainboard without SLI, dont get those.

$1400 for a desktop? Damn, skippy. 1080p gaming can be done on <$500, and price to performance probably doesn't scale as well as you're hoping.

    Unless you're pushing >1080p, I don't see a need for a GTX 780. It's a card for 1440p or 2.5k.

What you said about i5's and i7's is absolute horse crap. An i7 is an i5 with hyperthreading and some IPC / instruction set enchancements.
While it's true that gaming (as of now but not neccesarily in the future) benefits from fewer, faster cores, the i7's tend to be binned a little bit better and can get faster on a few cores than i5's.

Im just sharing my personal experiences, everyone can have different ones, right? Anyway, i dont know the current prices for hardware and everthing less than 700$ is considered low class gaming afaik. I never had an i7 just the mentioned i5, so i can be very wrong about that, but i do think it is faster at gaming (but not at desktop applications such as photoshop or word or this stuff) even if its just a little bit, isnt it a bit cheaper than the i7 anyway? I had a 600$ setup before and i can say that it wasnt all that great so less than 500? nah...
